Heal Trauma Faster Using This Basic Daily Exercise

Heal Trauma Faster Using This Basic Daily Exercise

Dec 31, 2021

In today's blog, I want to give you an exercise that you can do to get some relief from any kind of stress or anxiety, or maybe complications of trauma that you know you've experienced that are affecting you right now. This is one of my favorite exercises to speed the process of healing trauma.

This exercise is very important, because if you do this several times a day for a while, you'll start feeling this sense of calmness, and then you'll start noticing when you start getting activated. And then the minute you can start seeing that change is when you can address the real core trauma much easier.

Grounding Will Help You Eliminate The Bodily Stressed Caused By Trauma

There's a huge benefit to learning this exercise when trying to heal trauma. Most people with activated trauma, don't have a sense of where to start. Grounding will give you a calm baseline to measure everything against. Get calm first, then notice what unconscious thoughts and meanings are behind the activation.

The way it works is you first find a spot on the wall and then take in the whole room. Just feel yourself kind of dropping in behind your eyes, like your presence behind the back of your eyes and just feel the whole room. And then as you do that, just gently close your eyes and keep that same feeling going.

Now, as you're breathing, I want you to imagine as wide as your hips, a beam of light going through the chair, through the floor, down into the Earth, going all the way down to the center of the Earth. And every time you exhale, just imagine that beam of light going down. Just send it down, down, down, down, down.
And as you're doing that on the exhale, let gravity just pull everything down in your body, all the cells, all the energy. Just imagine that you're sending any kind of toxic, heavy, negative tiresome, any energy in your body right now, just send it down that bmali to the center of the Earth.

The Speed of Recovery Depends On How Much You Practice

And the more you practice this, the more you'll realize how much you're actually holding patterns in certain ways. I recommend practicing it a lot especially in the beginning. Do it for maybe five to ten minutes. The longer, the better, of course, every day for a while, and then see what happens. See what you start noticing that is changing.

Think of it this way, to heal trauma, you want to practice to the point it's wired into your muscle memory just like the trauma. You'll want it to be automatic for you to ground all the time, even when walking or talking or observing life events. You are basically replacing this new way with the old trauma pattern.

Maybe there's a little calmness starting to show up there, or maybe you'll begin to see the contrast between the calmness and the feeling you get when activated. Okay. I hope that's helpful. This is called Grounding exercise number one. It's part of the Trauma Repair Accelerator program.

If you're interested in the Trauma Repair Accelerator program for healing trauma on your own (or to speed the process if you are working with a therapist), just be sure to look for some of the links in the description and happy to communicate what that's all about. Anyway, many blessings. Hope you have a nice New Year. Love and hugs to all you and your family and all your loved ones.
